REGISTERED GOTLAND SHEEP

Gotland sheep originated on the isle of Gotland, off the coast of Sweden.  They are fine boned, medium sized sheep making them perfect for small farm operations. 

Rams average 165-190 lbs and ewes 120-155 lbs. They are naturally hornless and short tailed. Ewes are easy to lamb and good mothers. Gotlands are personable, extremely friendly, calm, affectionate and a pleasure to own.

Gotland fleece is curly, silky and lustrous. We shear twice a year, spring and fall.

The fleece ranges in colour from charcoal to light gray. Staple length varies from 3 to 7 inches. Micron count ranges from lambs 18 to mid 20’s; adults from 27 to 34. Gotland fleece is prized by spinners and fiber enthusiasts alike.
